What I am going to share with you today is so simple, it almost feels silly to share with you but I thought maybe you would find it to be a great idea like I did…so here you go.
For a long time at my house, if I asked anyone to help me fold the towels laundry, they couldn’t figure out which towels were rags and which were everyday use. I’m not sure if that means my everyday towels look really bad or my rags look really good or if people around here just wanted an out to not help fold and sort!
Look at this rag….looks obvious it is a rag to me, but people around here couldn’t seem to figure it out. Hmmm….well anyway…
One day I came up with a simple idea that works. Now everyone seems to be able to figure out which is which, even my 5 year old!
To make this idea work for you all you need to do is pick one corner of your rag.
Cut the corner off. Sew the corner with a simple straight stitch. As you can see, I’m not even that precise with my cut or sewing or worrying about frayed edges….they are rags after all. Once you have cut and sewn your one corner, voila…corner cut rags!
Now my kids and Mr. T all know that if the towel they are folding is missing a corner, it is a rag. It is then folded and sorted with the rags. Easy Peasy!
Maybe it is a silly thing to be excited about, but now I don’t hear any more excuses about people not being able to fold AND sort the laundry because they don’t know what is what. With all the things I have going on, one less thing for me to do is wonderful to me.
If you need a few more laundry ideas, here is how I have my laundry room organized and here is how I get the whole family to help with doing the actual laundry!
Good luck taming the laundry monster at your house!
I’m so glad you like the idea. It has really helped at my house. Hope it helps at yours as well.
I don’t think this is a silly post. It’s a very good idea and one that I will implement in my household. Thanks for the tip!
