Family Time Fitness Homeschool PE Curriculum - A Daily Look {& Giveaway!!}

Today, I want to give you a look inside the Family Time Fitness - Homeschool Physical Education Curriculum  as well as my opinion of the program. Then I get the fun 'job' of giving away 2 Platinum Homeschool PE Packages from Family Time Fitness! Yippee!  I also have a coupon code for you to save if you want to order and product from Family Time Fitness. That is at the bottom after my review.

I highly recommend Family Time Fitness. Why?

Great question, in a nut shell, it is simple, requires very little equipment, can be completed inside and outside, it is easy to teach, it is effective and it is fun.

Fitness 4 Homeschool Physical Education Curriculum

When you order Family Time Fitness - Homeschool Physical Education Curriculum, you will download all of your lessons onto your computer. I put mine in a folder on my computer as well as on my Google docs online. That way, I can access my lessons from my Kindle Fire as well, which is so easy to me. I have no need to print them out and waste that money and paper. I just have my Kindle Fire out and open for each of our lessons and refer to it as I go. (The only draw back with this is that the links to the videos don't work on my Fire, so if I need to see those, I have to look at them on my computer.)

As you get started with the Family Time Fitness - Homeschool Physical Education Curriculum , I would suggest that you look through the lesson before you complete the lesson. I don't do this anymore as I know enough about the program and the suggested activities that I can easily figure out what they are telling me to do, but in the beginning, I needed to look through the lessons to understand what we were doing. One thing that I love about this Homeschool PE Curriculum is that they have videos for everything in the program. If you don't understand something they have written, just click the link to be taken to a YouTube video showing you what you are to do. Could they make that any easier for us? Love it!

Before you begin, don't forget to look for what supplies you will need. You won't need a lot, which is another thing I like about Family Time Fitness. It is a great program that requires a few basic supplies that you will use over and over. Therefore the cost of using the program is not overwhelming. You will need things like bean bags, hula hoops, balls, jump ropes and a few other things. I was able to get all of my supplies at the $5 Below store or Target's Dollar Spot and just added them a few each month as we needed them.

As far as your daily lessons, each lesson has a warm up , an activity and/or game as well as a cool down. There is also a suggestion for an outdoor activity. We complete the majority of our P.E. lessons inside and it works just fine for us. That is another thing I really like about the program. It can actually work inside. Our area has lots of mosquitos and apparently we are really sweet because they eat us alive, so we usually complete our lessons inside the safety of our home. ;-)

We spend between 20 and 30 minutes completing our 'P.E.' for the day. We do this 3 days per week. I vary the time based on what else we have going on that day. I am able to vary the time by either doing the complete lesson with all the repetitions they suggest or I cut down the repetitions to fit into the time we have for the day. I also vary it because sometimes it seems like they have too many repetitions and it becomes too long and too hard for the girls. I'm not sure if that means we are using too big of a space for our lessons or if we are slightly wimpy.

Now, I don't want to paint a picture that every day when we use the Family Time Fitness - Homeschool Physical Education Curriculum it is total bliss. It is not, because we are normal human beings and we all have our off days and/or children have fits and what have you. That being said, I would say that we genuinely enjoy our P.E. lessons. Some of my favorite homeschool moments during the day are from our Homeschool PE Curriculum lesson. We often end in giggles over a game. Those are the things I love and look forward to. Yes, I know I am teaching my kids physical fitness and yesterday (you can read that here) I told you how important that is to me, but equally important are those moments when you get time with your kids and everyone is enjoying the moment and the time together. We seem to have quite a few of those moments during our Family Time Fitness game time.

Lastly, there are two benefits to our using this program that I want to mention. The first is that we are more healthy and have been sick less. Can I hear a 'Woot, Woot' for that benefit. The second is the benefits I see in our homeschooling. When we added the fitness program, I was a little concerned about adding the time to our day. What I have seen is that on the days we complete  Family Time Fitness - Homeschool Physical Education Curriculum we have better attention and generally more focus (which can be an issue for one of my daughters). What makes no sense to me, but I have seen time and time again over the last year, is that even though this added time to our school day, we are still done at our usual time. It is like it didn't actually add time to our day. I think it is because it helps that much in the attention and ability to transition. I'm not really sure, but if that is an issue at your house, you may see similar results.

Now the exciting part to me, I get to giveaway two Platinum Family Time Fitness packages! These are the top of the line packages - wish I had this one. I bought the basic package(it is only $57), which fit my budget better.

I sure hope you win and that you love the program as much as we do. The winner will be announced on August 29th. If you just can't wait and want to order now, you can use coupon code : KCOAKE20 to get 20% off any purchase at Family Time Fitness.
