For those of you who have followed my blog for a little while, you may remember that this year I was cooking through some of the recipes in my Grandma’s recipe box. I thought I would end the year with another of her cookie recipes. It was hard to choose, so I’m sure I will be back next year with more of her old fashioned cookie recipes. They all look so yummy! This time I decided to go for something chocolate and I have a recipe for delicious chocolate spice cookies for you.
The recipe is a little funny by today’s standards, but they seemed to cook up just fine and taste delicious. Works for me!
I asked my Dad about these cookies because I was surprised by how much they spread as they baked and how thin they were. He didn’t remember them being thin like this, so it may be that I did something wrong and yours may bake up a bit more fluffy.
As they baked up for me, the cookies were thin, crispy and very delicious. They have a little bit of a zing to them with the cinnamon and cloves that are added. It definitely adds to the flavor of the cookies.
They look so pretty all bundled together. The cookies would make a great gift for a neighbor, teacher or friend.
You can download your own copy of the recipe or you can visit to see nutritional information.
I hope if you decide to make this cookie recipe, you really enjoy them.
What is your favorite cookie at the holiday season? Mine is definitely Chocolate Crinkles…yum! Anything chocolate will do in my book!
