I really, really don’t want to think about it yet, but winter is totally coming. We have had a fairly unseasonably warm fall, which I have totally enjoyed, but the cold is coming. I try to keep myself and my kids active and healthy even when it is cold out. That can be a bit of challenge since we don’t just happen to have a huge open basement or a gym in our house. 😉 On cold or bad weather days, we have some family fun with Just Dance and let me tell you it is a great and super fun workout.
Just Dance recently released a new version, which they sent to me as well as sponsored this post. The new version is Just Dance: Disney Party 2 and it packed with tons of fun songs that you and your kids will recognize from the Disney Channel line of shows and movies.
If you have followed my blog for awhile, you may remember me writing about Just Dance 2015 last year about this time. Since that time, we have continued to use Just Dance as a great way to get moving on bad weather days. I’m telling you, it is a great way to get moving. We have also had tournaments or played with my parents, my nieces, and the girls friends not to mention fun just with our family. I knew my girls would LOVE the newest Just Dance: Disney Party 2 version because it has tons of songs they love from Disney Channel.
They were excited to open Just Dance: Disney Party 2 up and see what songs were in this game. They were super excited to see songs from Teen Beach 2 and Descendants among other songs.
We quickly had to get to playing. Of course, they started with a song from Teen Beach Movie 2. 🙂
I wish I would have looked at their activity trackers before they started playing. I know they got a lot of steps just from playing 5 or 6 songs. I only did 2 songs with them (so I could photograph this) and I got over 500 steps per song. Love that!
At the end of the song, you get to see how each person scored. You can make a big deal out of this and turn it into a competition if your family likes that. We do that sometimes, but since there are 5 years between my girls, it often ends with my youngest crying. So, a lot of the time we just play for fun. I know that as the weather gets colder and over the holiday breaks, this will be great family fun. A perfect way to entertain the kids while I work AND get them moving at the same time.
I had to get in on the action as well. I selected another song from Teen Beach 2. There are so many fun songs in that movie…why not try to have fun dancing to them as well. Of course, we also had to dance to the ‘Evil Like Me’ song from Descendants…another fun song.
Our cat just sat and watched us as we played. He seems to like to be involved in our silly family fun…like those yarn snowball fights I wrote about ages ago(wow…now that post will remind me how quickly they grow up!!). Don’t you just wonder what is going through his mind?
This winter I know we are going to have lots of fun with our Wii as well as Just Dance 2015 and Just Dance: Disney Party 2. You should totally give them a try as well. Thank goodness for simple and fun ways to stay active together as a family. We may even turn it into a steps competition(with our activity trackers) rather than points in the game competition…sounds fun and like it would be fair for all ages.
Have you played any of the Just Dance games? Which is your favorite?
