You ready for some winter fashion? I’ve got another Stitch Fix Review for you today. This was my 23rd box with Stitch Fix.
For those of you keeping track, box #22 came at a very busy time of year with the holiday’s and what not, so I didn’t share it here. I did share it on Instagram and my Facebook page – you should totally be following me both places! 🙂 I just got box #24 (I have them set to every 3 weeks in the winter because my winter wardrobe is non-existant). I won’t be sharing box #24 here, but I took a few pics and will share those on Instagram and Facebook as well.
On to this box, when I pulled everything out of the box, I had super high hopes for this box. I loved what I saw. However, I got this box right at the new year. I just haven’t been able to share it with you yet because of all of the issues I’ve had with my site thus far this year. I’ve learned that getting a box right near the new year isn’t that grand of an idea. I had been sick for a week or two and not exercising. Couple that with the holidays and all the sweet treats and I’m sure you can guess that I had gained a few pounds and wasn’t feeling all that great about my body or buying new clothing at the time. You have been there, right?
I will show you what was in the box and tell you what I did with everything, but first, for those of you who are not familiar with Stitch Fix, let me tell you about Stitch Fix.
In my opinion, Stitch Fix (affiliate links throughout this post) is perfect for busy moms (like me) or people who don’t like to shop (like me) or have a fashion addiction and have always secretly wanted their own stylist….Stitch Fix is for you. I also think it is great for helping you find pieces for your wardrobe that you wouldn’t normally even look at in the store. Variety can be a great thing and Stitch Fix helps with that for sure!
You will want to start by signing up for Stitch Fix by clicking here. When you do so, you will fill out a style survey. It will give your stylist ideas of what you like and don’t like as well as your sizing information. Then you need to sign up for your first fix and wait patiently until the box comes. If you are like me, the date of your next fix will be kind of like your due date when you were pregnant….you won’t forget it. At. All.
When your fix is sent, you will be charged a $20 styling fee. Once the box arrives, try on everything in the box within 3 days. I love that I can try things on anytime I want and anytime that is convenient for me.
Select what you plan to keep and what you plan to return. Go online to your Stitch Fix account and check out. Leave your stylist very specific information about what you liked and didn’t like. It will help future fixes get even better. I’ve also found that starting a specific Stitch Fix Pinterest board (like mine here) and ONLY pinning things I would actually wear and that I think would look good on me (versus inspiration and amazing things you like, but would look horrible on) to that board has helped. I leave notes in the pins as to what I like or don’t like in the pin.
As you check out, you will pay for whatever you are keeping. At that time, your $20 styling fee will be deducted from the total cost of the items you are keeping. If you hit the jackpot and you love everything in your box, you will get a 25% discount on everything in the box! Yay!
The first item I tried on was the Laila Jayde Barret Cold Shoulder Knit Top.
That was paired with the Just Adorra Skinny Jean.
I was super hopeful that I would love the cold shoulder top. Truthfully, I did like it, but it was just a little bit snug and I was not in a good mood with my body. Ever been there? I felt like the shirt looked great if I sucked in my stomach and stood tall, but for real life where I sit down and I don’t suck my stomach in…I felt like I was totally going to be self-conscious and not comfortable.
The jeans were a size 30, which was just not nice following the holidays. A size 30 is too small on a good day. They were crazy tight. From the back, you can see my muffin top over the top of the jeans. Did I mention I wasn’t feeling particularly great about how I looked while I was trying on this box?
I was super excited to try on the Collette Chellie Lace Sleeve Knit Top. It looked so cute and like something I would wear on a daily basis.
I paired the top with a pair of jeans I got from another fix. The shirt was tight. Sometimes I’m OK with a tight fitting shirt. This was not that time. I was feeling self-conscious about how I looked anyway and not enjoying my post-holiday tummy. The tightness in the shirt made me feel like everyone could see every pound I gained over the holidays. Yes, it was a bad time to try on clothes. I knew I would be self-conscious in the shirt.
I decided to give it a try with the sweater I got in my last fix (which I only showed on Instagram and Facebook). It looked cute, but again, the top was just too tight for my comfort level and I felt like you could see a muffin top under the jeans.
This is the RD Style Torri V-Neck Pullover Sweater. I love the detailing on the back of this sweater.
Cute sweater paired with another pair of jeans from another fix. This is totally something I would wear on a daily basis.
I love the back of the sweater. So fun! Unfortunately, the sweater had a snag at the neckline that I had no idea how to fix. I didn’t want to spend the money on a sweater that already had a flaw.
What is so funny about this box is that when I pulled things out of the box, I loved everything and thought I would love everything on. I said to my girls that I would be sending back the Andrew Marc Boras Fleece Lined Down Puffer Coat. I already had a puffer coat that I liked.
This jacket is so cozy! It has fleece lined pockets that are dreamy when it is cold along with a fleece lined hood. I fell in love as soon as I put it on. I kinda had to eat my words. 🙂
Now regardless of how I felt about my body and trying on clothes, you know my children did not care and were just like sharks circling…photobombing MUST happen. 😉
They started early, this time, starting with my first outfit. It may not have been the best choice since Mommy was kind of in a bad mood trying on AND photographing these clothes that she didn’t feel good in. They made it fun for me anyway. Thank you girls!
Snowflake decided that bubbles would be a fun way to photobomb. Can you find the bubble in the picture?
I just love this picture, we are such nuts!
Ummm…yeah, Mommy be like….

To see my latest Stitch Fix box, I recommend that you follow me on Instagram or Facebook. While I have loved posting my Stitch Fix reviews here, I’m not sure I will continue to do them every month. They take me a lot of time to set up and photograph. It ends up taking some of the fun away from my Stitch Fix box arriving and makes it more like a business thing I have to do. I think I will still post some here, but I’m thinking of not posting every box on the blog. What do you think? Love seeing my Stitch Fix review and would be super bummed if I stopped or you don’t mind to just see them on Instagram or Facebook? Thoughts? Leave them in the comments below.
What would your Stitch Fix Review be for this box? Leave me a comment. I’d love to hear.
More great posts you are going to love:
Maybe blog about just one Stitch Fix box per season? Then you can pick the times you’ll feel best in your clothes and we’ll get to see various seasonal items they offer.
That is a good idea! Thanks for leaving your input. 🙂
