As I told you last week, the nice folks at Liberty Jane Patterns gave me a few patterns to try. We picked out the American Girl Doll backpacks I showed you last week as well as this Trendy Maxi Skirt pattern and one additional pattern I hope to show you next week. The maxi skirt pattern is $3.99 and is fairly easy to make.
All in all this was another easy pattern that I enjoyed making. I liked sitting down and knocking out two skirts in an hour or so. Those are my favorite kinds of projects!
What are your favorite kinds of projects? The involved kind or the quick and done kind?
Very cute!
Thanks so much, Diana!

My girls are going to love this! It looks like a pretty simple project, too. Time to dust off the sewing machine! LOL
It was pretty simple! I hope you and the girls love them. Enjoy!

My girls LOVE their AG dolls’ matching maxi skirts! Great job on yours!
Thanks so much! It is so much fun for them to match their dolls.
Take care,
KC
I love that you made coordinating skirts for the dolls and the girls! Great job, I’m going to have to use some of these to make some for my own daughter, she will love it!

What a fun mom you are! I bet they are loving their skirts and sharing the fun with their dolls. Great job. Thanks for sharing.
Happy Sharefest.
They sure are having fun with the skirts and the dolls. Thanks so much!

Love! I’m doing a tiered maxi for my daughter right now…I think I’ll add a tier & make a match for her doll! Thanks KC!
I looked at a tiered maxi skirt on another blog, but I wasn’t sure about modifying it enough for my oldest daughter…so I went the pattern route instead. I think this skirt would look great with a tiered skirt especially when you add the extra layer. Great idea!

So cute!!
Thanks!

Love this idea, just wish I could sew. *sigh* I’ll just admire your work for now. 🙂
Thank you! Maybe you could find a local quilting store and take a class to learn how to sew. I also have a link at the bottom of my post to craftsy.com…they have online classes to teach you how to sew as well. Or of course, you are welcome to continue to admire my work.
Thanks so much,
KC
Love this! If you haven’t linked up to Teach Me Tuesday, I’d love to have you come share your post on my site: https://www.somedayilllearn.com/2013/09/09/teach-tuesday-33/
Thank you!

The girls must love the matching outfits!!!
They sure do…they seem to wear them quite a bit. Makes me glad I did it!
Take care,
KC
I really admire your ability to craft such good-looking American girl doll clothing that even matches with your daughter’s outfit. The match of the white shirt and the beauty of the blue skirt is simply perfect to look at. I would love to do this myself for my daughter and her child, but I’m lacking in the arts and crafts department. I’ll just try to look around for matching clothes online or a service that could provide me with what I am looking for. Thanks!
Thank you so much for your nice comment. If you haven’t already, I’d suggest that you look at Etsy. There are tons of great shops that make and sell really cute clothes for American Girl Dolls. Have fun!
