Do any of you have a Starbucks addiction? Ummm….I totally do! Even though I’ve become allergic to their espresso and coffee(not just theirs) gives me heart palpitations, that doesn’t stop me. They have some fantastic teas. I’m there usually a couple of times a week. Today, I’m going to share aΒ banana bread recipe that came from Starbucks. A few years ago, when they took their bakery items all natural, they gave out a few recipes. Of course, I totally snagged them. This is their actual recipe for banana bread…not a knock off.
If you’ve been in a Starbucks(Ummm has anyone not been in a Starbucks?), then you have also seen the gorgeous pastry case. Everything looks so yummy! Most everything I’ve ever gotten has lived up and been quite yummy.
Their banana bread is no exception. It is nutty, has a crunchy crust and is moist and delicious. It is also almost 500 calories for their large slice. My girls love to share a piece for a snack and I always want some, but unless I’ve done a long run that day, if I want to keep the weight off that I’ve lost, I can’t eat a 500 calorie piece of banana bread.
The thing I love about making this bread or my Apple bread myself at home is that I can cut the slices any size I want. I can partake in the yumminess and not feel guilty.
I have modified the Starbucks recipe slightly by using white whole wheat flour and if I don’t have buttermilk on hand, I just use milk. The other thing that I have found is that their baking time is laughable. They say this bread should cook up in 45 minutes. I have never had it be done in that amount of time. We start by checking the bread at 1 hour and 15 minutes. It usually takes almost an hour and a half for the bread to cook and be totally done with no soft gooey spots in the middle.
I cook my bread in my Pampered Chef loaf pan, here is a similar pan available on Amazon(affiliate link). It works perfectly for this recipe because even with the long cook time the bread doesn’t get burned.
Hi KC, thanks so much for leaving me a sweet comment on my blog Little Brags (the Playroom post with the DIY Chalk Board Frames)I tried to reply to your comment directly but you came up as a non reply blogger (Google glitch). Christine from https://littlebrags.blogspot.com
BTW will pin this recipe.Love Banana bread
Yes, I was on blogger and have since switched to WordPress. Even when I was on blogger, it kept changing me from a reply blogger to a no-reply blogger. Such a pain, I finally gave up. Thanks for tracking me down. I loved your playroom…so many fun projects! Thanks for the pin and enjoy the bread if you make it. It is really yummy!
Hi there chica! So…you are allergic to coffee? Crazy thing, I am too…like really allergic. Just discovered the allergy a few weeks ago by way of a blood test. And…I’m allergic to bananas. I was like wha-the-WHAT??? My morning routine has gone through a major overhaul. Coffee is replaced with hot lemon water and the frozen banana in my smoothies is no more. Sad but so worth it. The reactions I was having increased inflammation in my joints. Now that I have eliminated the handful of items that tested positive, I feel like a new person. Who woulda thunk it? All this means I am DROOLING over your pictures but sadly cannot partake. Banana bread is one of my all time favorites. I’m grabbing the recipe to serve guests. Hope all is well in the Coake family!
Hey! I’m so glad you stopped by. I’ve never met anyone else who is allergic to coffee. Most people look at me like I’m nuts when I mention it. Can you do tea at all? That was my switch…at least it is still something. Bananas, would be hard to be allergic to. I’m sure you do feel tons better! I know I felt a million times better when I figured out my peanut and coffee allergies. Sorry to show you a recipe that looks good, but would be so bad to eat. It was good to see your smiling face. How are you doing? Are you blogging much? I haven’t seen posts in my feed, but maybe I need to update my feed. Take care. π
KC, this looks fabulous! I love Starbucks but rarely (as in almost never) have bought their pastries even though they do look SO delicious. So expensive! Love your recipe. LOVE your photos. You did a great job with this. Pinned!
This looks amazing! Just found your site and it’s spectacular…you have such good ideas! Pinning this for the moment (tomorrow) when I need to make this. π Thanks so much for sharing!
Thanks so much! You are so sweet. Hope you enjoyed the banana bread if you made it! π
Looks delicious!
Thanks! It sure is delicious. π
This sounds great!
Thanks! It is delish! π
Oh yum! I love banana bread, my mom used to make it when we were kids. I’ll have to give her this recipe too! I didn’t know you could be allergic to coffee but I don’t know why not. Thanks for the great recipe!
Thanks…it is yummy! Hope you and your family enjoy it. Yep, not many people are aware that people can be allergic to coffee. For me, we think it may be related more to what is grown near it or how it is processed, as I have a peanut allergy. Not fully sure on that, but the itchy rash and heart palpitations are just no fun. π
This has to be my favorite banana bread ever. It’s moist and so delicious! Thanks for sharing!
My oven must be overly hot, with 40 minutes left to go my fire alarms went off and the outside was completely burnt…I was able to salvage the inside which was delicious, I’ll try again but check around the 45 minute mark
I like this banana nut recipe but I do not see any cinnamon in these recipes. I have eat the banana bread from Starbucks and I taste the cinnamon. What’s up?
I’m not sure. I know that this is from the recipe card they handed out in Starbucks that was for their banana bread. If you miss it, you can always add a teaspoon of cinnamon and see it that does the trick for you.
Precisely today in Starbucks, I ate a banana bread for the first time in my life, it was so yummy and fluffy then a curious way of looking at the internet I came across your recipe also It seemed so easy for me so i am excited to cook it ! thanks for sharing ! π
Hi- this looks delicious but I don’t see the recipe anywhere. I’m reading from my phone, so perhaps I missed something? Thanks xx

Would you please link me the recipe of the Starbucks banana bread. I could not see the “get your recipe now”. at the bottom of the post on the your comment area. Thank you so much. I appreciate your time.

Hey KC,
I cannot seem to find the pink box with the recipe. I subscribed to your email list but I still cannot see it on the page. What should I do? I have made your recipe before and it turned out amazing, but I somehow lost access to my old email account and I can’t find it now. Please help!
Thank you.
If you go back to the post, scroll to the bottom. Just below the paragraph that starts with “It works perfect for this recipe because even with the long cook time…” there should be a box. It’s not pink, but its a box. It says This is a Special Real Coake Subscriber Bonus. You should see a spot in that box to enter your name and email address. Do so. (If you’re already subscribed you may not see that box.) Wait a little bit and the box will change to a graphic that just says Click here for your recipe(which is what you’ll also see if you’re already subscribed). Click on that and the recipe will pop up in another window. If you try that and still can’t see it or it’s not working, just let me know again and I’ll make sure you get the recipe. Thanks! Sorry for the trouble you’re having!
Subscribed back in September to get the recipe. Came back looking for it again today and can’t get to it just like the person in the post before mine. Ridiculous having to jump through hoops for a recipe. Guess I’ll get it somewhere else because I don’t have time to keep jacking with comments back and forth trying to get something to work. The recipe isn’t worth it. SMH
Dee, I’m so sorry for the issues you’ve had as well as the frustration. I’ve had some issues with my site that I’m working to get fixed. It’s caused the issue that you’ve experienced. It should be fixed now. I’m sending you an email to take care of this for you.
I can not see the recipe. I also signed up for the name and email address but I still couldβt see the recipe.
I know it’s been a while, sorry for my delayed response. Were you able to get the recipe? I’ve been having trouble with the plugin I use to deliver the printables and it hasn’t been working like it should. Sorry for the trouble you are having.
