I’ve got a simple and easy way to save you money in the kitchen today. It is a taco seasoning recipe.
You know the packets of taco seasoning you can buy at the store? They cost a few bucks each. You can actually make that mix yourself. It will save you money and you will also know exactly what is in your mix. That is my favorite part. There are no preservatives or added ingredients, like MSG, that I don’t want in our diet.
This is so quick and easy. To make your own taco seasoning, you will need:
- empty spice jar (affiliate link), flour, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, paprika, cayenne pepper, sugar, cumin, oregano
All you have to do is put the correct amounts into a blender or food processor(I have all of that in the printable recipe just below) and pulse for 5 – 1-second pulses. Make sure you don’t over blend or your seasoning will be too powdery. Once you are done, place the mix in an airtight container. It will last for up to 6 months.
When a recipe calls for taco seasoning, use 3 tablespoons of this mix in place of the store-bought package. I use it in my Crock-pot Tostadas and the Taco Pizza we make (among other things), which are so delish!
It is a really tasty version as well. We love the flavor.
