Can you believe it’s already nearing the end of the school year? 😱 With the end of the school year comes all kinds of award ceremonies. As busy hardworking and creative moms, we want to put on something nice for our kids, but often time is the enemy. I created these cute little bags for a Girl Scout award ceremony and let me tell you they were so fast and easy, but also adorable and added a little something to the night.

Earlier this year, we had a mid-year award ceremony for our Girl Scout troop.

When I can, I love making something cute and something so the girls feel special when they get their awards, but I don’t always have the time to do the full treatment or go all out. Despite being an organized mom and teaching other moms how to be organized, I still can’t manufacture more hours in my day, and sometimes there isn’t enough time.

That was the case for our mid-year ceremony, yet I wanted the girls to feel special.

So, I came up with these simple and super fast bags, and I’ve got a Cricut Design Space file for you to use to make yours even faster. 😍

You can take this idea and change it for any type of award ceremony, you’ll only need to change out the Girl Scout symbol out for whatever organization you’re having your award ceremony for.

Step 1: Design

Grab your Design Space file at the bottom of this post and change the names to the names of the kids receiving awards.

If needed, change the logo to a logo for your organization by downloading it and uploading it into Cricut Design Space. You can also delete the logo and only have the kids names on the bags.

You can also change the size of the rectangles to match the size of your bags.

Set the names and logo to draw and the rectangle to cut. This is already set in the file you can snag at the bottom of this post, but for some reason sometimes it doesn’t save it that way. I don’t know why so double check those settings are correct.

Step 2: Let the Cricut do the work

Add your paper to your Cricut mat and the pen to the blade housing and let the Cricut do all the work while you do something else.

I told you it was easy!

Step 3: Glue

Glue the pre-cut rectangles to the front of the bags.

Step 4: Add Ribbon

While the bags are cute and add a special touch to the award ceremony, the ribbon is that final little touch. At least IMO.

Done!

I promised it would be quick and easy.

Well…  I guess now you have the hard job of filling the bags, which depending on what you’re doing, may take more time than making the bags.

What do you think?

To me, this adds that little bit to take an award ceremony from boring and ugly to cute. I love that it was so quick, simple and inexpensive to make as well and that it made the girls feel special at their award ceremony. Works for this mama!

Sarah – I’m sorry for the trouble. I just changed the settings. Please try again and let me know if it won’t work again. I’m pretty sure I fixed it. KC

    Hi KC,

LOVE your blog and I have a quick question. I have a Silhouette; will this file work or is it specific to Cricut?

    Thanks so much!
