As I’m sure you are quite aware, the school year is fast approaching or has perhaps already started for you. I always seems to struggle with healthy snacks for my kids during the school year. They get hungry every afternoon and I am usually in the middle of something else and really don’t want to stop to figure out what they can or can’t eat. I’ve got a great idea for you and I today for easy and healthy snacks for the kiddos!
If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may remember when I made the snack station for my girlies. I filled it with all kinds of healthy snacks for kids. The thing is that the snack jar has gotten totally neglected over the summer. We have been on summer time, meaning we often eat breakfast at 10 or 11 am, lunch at 2 or 3 and dinner at 7ish. Snacks really aren’t needed. I also know that last year the jar was forever running on empty, waiting for someone to fill it. With the school year rapidly approaching, I need to get the snack jar taken care of and I need it to be quick, easy and healthy. That is where Nature Box comes into play.
See, I told you my jar was running on empty.
To fill the jar, I started with my empty jar and some snack sized zipper bags.
Next, I went online and selected the 5 snacks from the snack catalog. Nature Box was delivered right to my door. Easy so far!
Nature Box has tons of healthy snack options. They have vegan, nut free and even non-gmo among their many options. None of them have artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors. I’m sure you can find something for any taste in their vast collection of snacks.
We selected Whole Wheat Strawberry Figgy Bars. They come individually wrapped, so I just put them in the jar.
My girls are used to having some kind of a mix for their snack. I put one Dark Cocoa Nom Noms with some Baked Cheddar Potato Sticks. I added a few dried cherries and pistachios. Done.
The Apple Pie Oat Clusters smell divine! I mixed those with a few Toasted Cheddar Stix (which are so delish!) and added a few raisins. Done.
Then I gave the bags from Nature Box to the girls along with the snack sized zipper bags and told them to make their own combos.
In just a few minutes (including taking the pictures), the snack jar was full again. It was easy and it gave my girls some new variety to snack time. I tend to get in a rut with our snacks. They are loving having new things to try in the snack jar. I’m loving that it is healthy and that it was delivered right to my door. Since Nature Box is subscription based, 5 new snacks will be delivered to my door each month. I can either select them or be surprised. That should totally help us not get into a rut and keep us well supplied with healthy after school snacks.
The great news for you is that I’ve got a special code for you to get 50% off your first month with Nature Box.
Fine Crumbs: Promotion is good for 50% off your first month to month box or $10 off your first box in your first prepaid subscription. New and US subscribers only. Not valid on gift subscriptions and may not be combined with any other offers.
