Apparently, I started celebrating my 41st birthday early. When you see my training for this week, you will understand. I was a bit of a slacker OR I could say I lived my life and trusted that I have trained enough up to this point to let it go for a weekend.

First things first, above is what I used for electrolyte replacement on my longer run this week. It is called Vitalyte. It was hard to get a picture with the full word on the packaging to show. Here is a link to it on Amazon, in case you want to see it better. Vitalyte
I used the Vitalyte on a 6 mile run. It was OK. It mixed in fine and tasted OK. It did have a sweet aftertaste that I didn't care for. It was not nearly as sweet as the Fluid Performance that I tried a while back, but I still didn't care for the sweet aftertaste. My quest will continue. I need to get to a store and get some more things to try this week before my long run.
As to my training this week, I completed my 3.5 mile run as well as one longer 6 mile run. I also completed a day of Yoga. I did nothing else from my plan. I went out of town on a Mommy get away weekend to scrapbook! It was lovely. I had a great time with my friends and got a lot of scrapbook pages completed. It meant I didn't get the exercise in or the planned 11 mile run in.
My IT band did feel fine for both my 3.5 mile run as well as my 6 mile run. On that note, I did make it to the Dr. this week and got my script to go to physical therapy. I have an appointment for physical therapy for this week. It will be fun to see everyone that I got to know while going through months of PT following my hip surgery and I am looking forward to the long runs getting better for my IT band. I have also been having an issue with my left thigh/leg for which we we are going to try some PT. If that doesn't help, I will need to go back to the hip surgeon as it could possibly be something with my hip. Fingers crossed that the physical therapist can help and even figure out exactly what this weird thing with my leg is.
Today is my birthday….so I'm off to celebrate and enjoy the day with my family.

Happy Running to you!
